Tatacoa Desert Expedition Plan for 4 days

The expedition plan to the Tatacoa Desert for 4 days will be carried out as follows:

Day 1:

Starting at 2:00 pm there will be a reception in Villavieja , installation at the hotel and starting at 3:00 pm with the cultural and historical Town Tour in Villavieja. With this you will visit the Paleontological Museum, the Totumo Artisan House Museum, the Santa Bárbara Chapel, the Nuestra Señora del Socorro Church, the Malecón located on the banks of the Magdalena River and finally you will visit a Boutique store in Villavieja to buy handicrafts, reminders or souvenirs.

After 6:00 pm we will go to the Tatacoa Desert Astronomical Observatory where you can enjoy beautiful celestial phenomena. There you will participate in an interactive talk led by an astronomer, who will do celestial mapping and where you can learn about Greek mythology, cosmology, and then observe the stars through a telescope. Later transfer to the hotel and accommodation

Day 2

The second day of this plan to the Tatacoa Desert , we will have breakfast first thing in the morning and then we will go to the Tatacoa Desert to start a guided tour of the Tatacoa Desert. Places such as El Cardón will be visited; the labyrinths of Cusco, Windows, the highest point of Tatacoa, also known as the sand zoo, Los Hoyos and ending the tour in a mineral water pool.

During the journey, we will optionally visit places to buy typical sweets made with goat's milk and others made with cactus and aloe vera. The tour will end at the lodging place in the Tatacoa Desert .

The afternoon will be free to enjoy the services of the tourist inn or activities not included in the plan such as horseback riding, renting bicycles or ATVs.

Day 3:

After breakfast, we will start the Tour through the Valley of the Xilópalos; a spectacular walk through the gray zone of the Tatacoa Desert. There you can see beautiful passages such as the pass of the snake, the Strait of the lady and the Valley of the beautiful.

During the tour, you can also see the Xilopalos; trunks of ancient trees that populated this area millions of years ago, and that have survived to this day converted into fossils. Then we will make the respective transfer to the place of accommodation and we will have the afternoon free to enjoy the swimming pool of the tourist inn or activities not included in the plan.

Day 4:

Breakfast will be taken and at the agreed time we will go to Villavieja to enjoy a canoe trip on the Magdalena River to learn a little more about the fauna and flora of the place; Later, the facilities of the craft beer plant will be visited where you can live an unforgettable experience amidst beautiful murals. At the end of this day's program, the 4-day plan to the Tatacoa Desert will be terminated.
