Ciudad Perdida closing September 2023

This emblematic sanctuary called Ciudad Perdida, also known as Teyuna in the local indigenous language, is one of the most important archaeological treasures in Colombia and listed as one of the essential destinations for lovers of history and adventure. This treasure is located in the depths of the jungle of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, this ancient pre-Columbian city has been the object of study and admiration since its great discovery in the 1970s.

Did you know that Ciudad Perdida is a testament to the great architectural skill of the Tayrona era, which is why the terraces and structures were built without the use of metal tools or wheels. The site is a window to the past, revealing the complexity of life in a pre-Columbian civilization in the mountains of Colombia. The closing date of Ciudad Perdida 2023, this year will be from September 1 to 30 , this is because in this time of recess the Indigenous community performs oxygenation, environmental cleaning of the ecosystem and recovery of our mother earth .

4. Mulkwakungui

It is a Kogui settlement, located in the village "Quebrada del sol", a region of the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The region is inhabited by peasants and indigenous Arhuacos, another of the native ethnic groups of the Sierra Nevada. All these communities coexist in harmony despite their cultural differences, a fact evident in the school, where the children of the region study regardless of their cultural background and while preserving their traditions.
