Day 1
Encounter with Ancestral Culture.
This adventure will begin once we arrive in Inírida and embark towards the hills of Mavicure, Pájaro, and Mono, belonging to the Indigenous Reserves of Remanso and Venado. While there, we will enjoy a delicious lunch to start our hike along Caño Mavicure, passing through white sand savannas and admiring its splendid landscape. Let's not forget our camera to capture a dreamy sunset on Cerro Tortuga. We'll end the day by reaching the community of Venado to settle into an indigenous maloca and have dinner.
Important: The places we visit are settlements of indigenous communities that protect their land and preserve it. Therefore, they lack the conveniences of conventional tourism, so we must have an open mind and adaptability.
Day 2
Discovering the Tepuy.
Our adventure begins with a delicious early morning breakfast for energy to ascend Cerro de Mavicure and explore the landscapes of the Guiana Shield. (which showcases the beauty and water abundance of this land). Afterward, we'll have a delightful lunch and enjoy a refreshing swim in Caño San Joaquín or Rio Inirida Beach. In the afternoon, we'll move in a curiara (indigenous canoe) to attempt dolphin sightings in the calm waters and visit the Community of La Ceiba for dolphin watching in the calm waters of nearby canals. Our day's adventure ends by returning to the community of Venado for dinner and rest.
Day 3
Experience Transforming Bitter Cassava and Visit to Cerro Flauta.
After breakfast, we set out early for a walk through the white sand savannah to reach the Tepuy called Cerro Flauta, where we can enjoy its incredible view and take fabulous Instagram-worthy photos. Later, we'll participate in an experiential workshop where bitter cassava (sour or poisonous yucca) will be transformed. This experience is fascinating as it is one of the region's main products, used to extract "mañoco" or starch for products like casabe, typical of the Amazon region. Enjoy the experience and interact with the locals. We'll conclude the day by returning to the Venado community reserve for dinner and rest.
Day 4
Indigenous Reserve Selva Mateven.
We start the day well-nourished for another adventure. We'll move to the indigenous community of Morrocó in the Vichada department, where we'll have the opportunity to explore the honey route, a sustainable project by the local community involving honey production. Your contributions are important, so don't forget to support them by buying some of their local products. Our adventure doesn't end; instead, we'll head to the source of the Great Orinoco River, recognizing the fluvial star of Inírida and its tributaries Inírida, Guaviare, Atabapo, and Orinoco. We'll pass through the Amanaven inspection in the Vichada department, the fourth-largest indigenous reserve in Colombia, where indigenous people own their lands and have an autonomous political system governed by their indigenous customs. Wow, isn't this interesting?
We'll conclude by reaching the Moru Natural Reserve, having lunch, taking a refreshing swim in the Atabapo River at the Maviso stone, a border area with Venezuela. We'll close the day with dinner and rest in a multiple cabin.
Day 5
Rappelling or Ecological Hike.
For our last day, we'll have the opportunity to choose between two activity options. We'll venture into the Matavén jungle, where we can decide whether to rappel (ascending to platforms in the treetops from where we'll start our journey on bridges at a height of 15 meters, covering distances of up to 160 meters), taking us through the northeast Amazonian forest. If this isn't what you desire, no problem, as we have a slightly more relaxed option—a ecological hike in the Moru Natural Reserve to observe the local fauna and its exquisite forests, allowing you to learn more about this natural reserve. With these activities, we'll close our chapter in Guainía and its surroundings, bidding farewell to this beautiful adventure and returning to Inírida Airport, which will take us to our next destination.
