To get to Salamina you must first be in Manizales ; the capital of Caldas . Then you must go to the Transport Terminal and take a bus to Salamina , which after approximately two hours of travel, you will be seeing this town located at the top of the coffee-growing hills.

What to do in Salamina?

Salamina is a town to walk and explore. From the entrance it appears as a jewel grouped by a collection of wattle and daub houses with beautiful balconies, flowers and clay tiles. However, during your visit to Salamina , you cannot miss its most important sites, among which are:

• La Pila: It is an imitation of the fountain found in the Place de la Concorde in Paris. It was built by the German firm Kissing & Holman and is considered the second most beautiful pile in America.
• Casa de la Cultura : A place that includes a library, an exhibition hall and an archaeological museum, among other things.
• El Kiosko: Located throughout the Salamina Park , it is another of the most iconic places in town. Its design consists of a mixture of arabesques, filigree and openwork in wood.
• The Cemetery : Although not very conventional, it is one of the most interesting places to visit in Salamina . For 35 years it was divided in two; the share of the rich and the poor until the wall that separated them was torn down in 1976.
• Immaculate Conception Temple: Its facade is recognized as one of the most beautiful Romanesque style in the country and the continent. The tower imitates that of the Temple of Solomon and its interior is elegantly decorated with beautiful finishes and sumptuous stained glass windows.
