Caño Cristales and Laguna del Silencio Tour, a multicolored paradise

Day 1

Knowing the magic La Cachivera

Upon arrival at the Macarena airport, you will meet your guide to go to receive the induction talk by the National Natural Parks (PNN). Depending on the time of arrival you will have lunch in the town or in the village on a peasant farm, then we will go to lnderena port to take a canoe that will take us for about 25 to 30 minutes on the Guayabero River to the village of La Cachivera.

At night we will enjoy myths, legends and stories of the community around a campfire.

Day 2

Caño Cristales: River of Colors

On our second day we will travel on horseback along a natural trail passing through various ecosystems, here we will have the opportunity to see the upper part of Caño Cristales . In the first walk of the day in which you will visit different attractions in some of our stops, you will be able to snorkel, swim and observe the Rhyncholacis Clavigera, the plant that gives Caño Cristales its 5 different colors. During the tour we will have a cold cut lunch (served in a banana leaf).

Day 3

Very early we will start our day with an observation and photography of birds, some primates and with the possibility of recording mammal tracks. Then we will return to the lodging to have breakfast and take your bathing clothes to do tubbing and recreational bathing activities.

After lunch, we will visit and walk along one of the trails that will lead us to the Laguna del Silencio, where you will take a foal (traditional canoe) and begin the tour of this water mirror. Here we will pass through the arches of the palm of moriche and visit the garcero.

At night we will enjoy myths, legends and stories of the community around a campfire.

Day 4

Charco Moriche connection with Caño Cristales

For our 4th day, we will travel through a nature trail passing through various ecosystems. where we will have the opportunity to see the lower part of Caño Cristales. On the first walk of the day we will be able to snorkel, swim and observe the green Rhyncholacis Clavigera . During the tour we will have a cold cut lunch (served in a banana leaf).

day 5

On our last day, if you want to see the beautiful llanero sunrise, we will get up very early to then have breakfast and start the walk back home to the pick-up point on horseback to reach the Guayabero river, where we will take the canoe back to the Macarena and take your flight back home.

• Wear trekking or tennis shoes with good grip, appropriate for walks on trails, mountains, waterfalls or rivers.
• Bring a quick-drying, low-volume towel.

• Use repellent, sunscreen and biodegradable soap.
• No smoking in the park.
• Do not drink alcoholic beverages inside the park.
• In the municipality of La Macarena there is no exchange house, you must bring the money in Colombian pesos.
• Caño Cristales is a nature destination for this reason its hotel infrastructure is not luxurious, much less than 5 stars, on the contrary, its accommodations are comfortable, clean and quiet.
• The trails to visit in Caño Cristales are assigned by environmental entities, this itinerary may undergo changes.
